Condo Photo Review: City Square Residences

Condo Photo Review: City Square Residences

Brimming white and blue, the newly completed Freehold City Square Residences always seem to catch one’s eye when in the vicinity of the Little India neighborhood. And a quick glance through the condo list will immediately tell you that it is only natural, for she is surely the queen of District 8.

With roughly 910 residential units split among two towers of 30 storeys, City Square is one of the largest condominiums around. Size aside, her facilities are also matched by none in District 8. In fact, one of the bigger advantages is the fact that Farrer Park MRT station is just across the road. Even better – City Square Mall and the renowned 24/7 Mustafa Shopping Centre is directly adjacent to it.

Traditionally an enclave of the Indian community, the neighborhood is rich with Indian culture and gastronomy. Endless lanes of traders hawking spices and fresh produce from shop houses can be found within walking distance. This attracts a large amount of ethnic Indians during the weekends and is a double edged sword. For those that love the rich culture, there could never be a better location; however there will be some that hate crowds!

Overall we thought City Square Residences was pretty okay, especially with the nearby MRT station, close proximity to town and long list of facilities. If you are looking for a condominium in District 8, we think City Square Residences should be where you start looking. However, it might seem a tight fit with so many units in this condominium once everyone moves in.

City Square Residences in the day. City Square Mall and Farrer Park MRT just lie across the road.

A large pool to accommodate the large amount of residents. Deck chairs line the side.

Wading pool with a water themed playground – a sure hit with the kids and something that I wished for as one.

Small putting green in the middle of the estate. We reckon that it could use some gates or barriers to keep the little ones from running amok.

Fancy water features greet residents returning home.

Reminds me of star gate…jump into dimension “home”.

The two well lit tennis courts face some low rise buildings and shop houses.

Another shot of the tennis court.

The BBQ area with pretty fancy tables and chairs spotted.

Another BBQ pit, but facing the shop houses. We are not sure if just four seats will be enough for a BBQ.

The outdoor relax area with nice comfy looking couches, reminds us of some fancier looking pubs.

Indoor relax areas for you to sit down, and watch your kids go crazy in the large open space.

Some outdoor fitness equipment.

Standard playground – without the water.

Fantastic looking clubhouse looks inviting enough to sit down and lounge about.

Multiple function rooms are available for all your hobnobbing needs.

The gym looks pretty well equipped. Not seen in this picture is a large rack of free weights.

Karaoke Room – a sure sign of a mass market project. At least this keeps the crooners happy and you asleep.

Steam room, a ladies best friend!

Activities come complete with a full sized billiards table.

You are seeing it right, there is a bowling alley in this condominium! Unfortunately we didn’t have time to visit it. Another condominium with a bowling alley that we are aware of is Savannah Condopark, all the way in the east.

Okay…plenty of basement parking for everyone we are sure!

Dusk greets the just TOPed condominium.

The poolside area in the evening, note how the gym (level 2) overlooks the swimming pool.

Parting shot of the condominium. Note the lack of balconies in this condominium.

Pathway to Little India! To the right is the upcoming City Square Mall – it is yet to be seen what tenant mix the mall will have.
