Blue Horizon, is a relatively new condominium in District 5 that achieved Temporary Occupation Permit in 2005. Found along West Coast Crescent, this 616 unit mass market condominium sits on 99yr leasehold land.
Its major drawback is the lack of public transport as the closest train station,
Dover MRT is not within 2km of the condominium. There are also few shopping options in the vicinity. However, some of its stronger points include overlooking the scenic West Coast Park, and being beside the National University of Singapore. It also close to the One North Project, a bio research and media hub planned by the government which will obviously draw the expat crowd.
When we visited Blue Horizon, we actually liked the open feel of the project. The area is not dense and certain units get exellent views of the sea. Check out the photos that we took:
The large wading pool for the little ones to enjoy themselves in.
Scenic shot by the main swimming pool. Although certain units get a fantastic pool view, this project does not feature balconies.
Deckchairs sit lazily by the poolside.
One of the two tennis courts featured in the project.
The second tennis court. Note how open the estate felt - most of the other projects along the coast are usually low rise in District 5.
A very well equipped gym, surely enough for the large number of residents in Blue Horizon.
BBQ pavilion - we really liked the concept.
Perhaps if the pavilion was spread out further apart it would have been perfect. We could imagine how smokey it gets if all the BBQ pits were lit up at the same time. However this would be a perfect venue if you booked all the pits for your own function.
A very high-tech looking playground. We didn't stay around long enough to figure it out.
A condo with its very own mini mart! Surely a hit with Japanese and Korean expats that find these very convenient.
Nice looking lounge at the club house.
Steam rooms to spoil oneself with.
Multi-storey car park. A slight disappointment as basement parking would have been perfect.
Shot of the wide car park.
Parting shot of the pavilion.
